主题:Improvement of vehicle dynamic performance using unconventional wheel interface
内容:The important performance of dynamics of vehicles is compatibility between stability and steering ability. For achievement of compatibility a lot of studies on suspension system and wheel/tire dynamics properties have been made in railway vehicles and automobiles. In this presentation, we propose an unconventional approach for wheel interface to improve vehicle dynamic performance dramatically. The use of negative conicity of wheel tread for railway vehicles and camber control of tire for automobile have possibility to get compatibility between stability and steering performance. Several experimental and simulation examination will be shown.

Yoshihiro Suda received Doctor of Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1987. Now, he is a professor of Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo from 2000 and a visiting professor of Tongji University from 2010. He is the director of Advanced Mobility Research Center from 2010, in addition to that, he is the director of Chiba Laboratory.

His research topics involve: Multibody Dynamics and control for railway vehicle, automobile and bicycle, Development of self-steering and power-steering trucks, Electro-magnetic suspension for automobiles, Driving simulator and human machine interface, ITS (Intelligent Transport System), Wheel/rail contact mechanics and Tire dynamics, Self-powered active control for vehicles and ships, Monitoring in human-vehicle- infrastructure system, Study on personal mobility vehicle, Onboard flywheel system and Evaluation of comfort.

Prof. Suda is the editorial board of several international journals, including International Journal of ITS Research, International Journal of Vehicle Mechanics and Mobility, Journal of Multibody Dynamics (Part K) Institution of Mechanical Engineers, etc.

Prof. Suda is a board member of The Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE), ITS Japan, Railway Technical Research Institute, and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE) and Japan Rail Engineers’ Association (JREA).
